Pan-African call for the demonstration in remembrance of Oury Jalloh

Let’s take to the streets to protest against racist state violence!

On January 7, we commemorate the anniversary of the brutal murder of Oury Jalloh. He was a 21-year-old brother, father of a child and son of Africa. On January 7, 2005, he was brutally beaten, imprisoned, tortured, murdered and burned to death.

The new expert report commissioned by the Initiative in remembrance of Oury Jalloh proves once again that Oury Jalloh was murdered. While the state legally and politically covers up, the racist murderer he employees and, the Initiative is committed to the struggle for clarification and justice.
We join this struggle to fight for truth, justice, and reparations for all those affected by racist and neo-colonial state violence.Racism against Black people has a long tradition for German and European imperialism. The same brutality that has been historically applied in the enslavement, colonization, occupation and exploitation of Africa and Black people worldwide is reflected in the present. The struggle for Black liberation and justice, for the end of white supremacy, is also taking place in Germany. The year 2021 marks ten years since the murder of Christy Schwundeck. She was a Black woman who was executed by Frankfurt police at the Job Center. Likewise, 2021 commemorates the twentieth anniversary of the murder of Mareame N’deye Sarr, who was first abused and then also shot by police in Aschaffenburg. On the same day as Oury Jalloh, Laye-Alama Condé was also murdered by police. He was arrested in Bremen in December 2004 and tortured to death. The police tied him up in order to forcibly insert emetics into his stomach through his nose. Thus, he choked on his own vomit and was declared dead on January 7, 2005.

Another victim of racist state violence in Germany is Achidi John. Like Laye Condé in Bremen later, Achidi was tortured to death in Hamburg in December 2001. The politician directly responsible for Achidi John’s murder is now the head of the German government: as Senator of the Interior, Olaf Scholz (SPD) had introduced emetic torture in Hamburg. Instead of showing remorse and being punished for torture and murder, those responsible have been able to make a career in politics.

These and many other cases as well as regular news about fascist terrorists and acts of violence show that we are dealing with much more than individual perpetrators. The whole system kills us – from the secret service, to the police, to the military, to the courts, to professional politics.

In order to counter this and to protect our people around the world, we must organize ourselves. Until Africa and Black people worldwide break away from imperialism, racism, capitalism and every form of exploitation.

We call on all people to stand-up against racism and to travel together to Dessau on the 7th of January to continue the struggle. We invite all African and Black organizations to come together and to set an example: Let’s unite under red-black-green flags that stand for the struggle of our ancestors, the welfare of our people and our mother continent Africa!

No Justice – No Peace!

Oury Jalloh – It was murder!
Christy Schwundeck – It was murder!
Mareame Sarr – It was murder!
Laye Condé – It was murder!
John Achidi – It was murder!
– Resistance everywhere!
